CONCEPT - Tesla is a very future oriented company, growing from the past. I took this same philosophy into my design of my Tesla Auto Sales Group and Showroom. I looked to the past and used Franco-American designer Raymond Loewy as my base imagery. Loewy was employed by NASA and designed prototypes for the peak space age. He was rooted in futurism. Other images in this concept include Nikola Tesla's notebook sketches of a UFO, the SpaceX spacesuit and the E in the Tesla logo, which uses negative/positive space to form the letter.
MODEL - Material, time and weight are at the epicenter of my model. I created concrete stones and ice blocks. One material permanent and one temporary.
END RESULT - In the end, the curved glass exterior was the focus on my design. I created this massive architectural element to encourage movement. Movement throughout the space and visual movement of the eye. Tesla is designing cars with the future in mind and their offices and showroom should be a reflection of this philosophy.
